Becoming a successful manager is probably as difficult as becoming a successful parent. You are required to provide guidance to the workforce under you, delegate as much as possible so as to help them learn new skills and give them the experience to take over senior level jobs to improve the competency of your workforce, and yet if anything goes wrong you are the one who is responsible for them. Apart from the parental role; responsibilities of the vital aspects of being a successful manager in the eyes of your executives is to be an ace in the art of conference management.

Your executives or the Board of directors will not be coming across your work on a day to day basis and usually your only chance to impress them would be at a conference.

Conference management is important since in most businesses decisions are somewhat centralized. Every time a new decision is being considered, a conference is called up to get everyone's consent and to convince those who might not agree, it is important that you know how to successfully lead a conference. Apart from that there are other things that help you in becoming a successful manager.

A successful manager is the figure in whose footsteps others want to follow. If you are somebody whom others are inspired from that does make you a good and a genuinely loved leader.

Build effective and responsive interpersonal relationships.those working under you should be able to seek guidance from you in difficult times, your colleagues should be able to lean upon you and a strong bond must exist with everyone. You are required to interact with, and your seniors should trust you to make the right decisions.

Communicate effectively through different modes of direct and indirect communication, two way feedback should be encouraged with the entire workforce around.

Be a productive team member. Encourage your staff to work in teams and be a part of it more as a team member than a bossy team leader. Of course there is no harm in being the team leader, but you will realize that by occasionally delegating; you will be encouraging your workforce to perform better and in the long run it will increase productivity and you will be have more time to focus on other major issues concerning your work.

Understand the financial aspects of your company. Make sure you are well versed in financial management so you do not take any risks that could lead to major losses. Calculate the amount of profits and losses your company is facing and make a budget for spending according to that. If you keep track of everything it will be easy for you to make timely and accurate decisions.

Know how to create a pleasant and morale boosting environment. It is especially important for your staff to be committed to the excellence and the success of the business. A healthy workforce yields healthy results. Compliment when an employee achieves some break through and appreciate it. Encourage hard work by examples, i.e. work hard and be committed yourself so your workers are inspired to do the same.

Help people grow and varnish their skills by providing on job training, educating them through online courses.
